How To Change Your Dialup Telephone Number The telephone number that you dial to connect to the Internet has changed. It is now (319) 277-3498 (Note: The area code is NOT needed for most configurations). You could create a NEW CONNECTION, or you can change the telephone number that you currently dial to a new, different number. Windows 95, 98, ME and 2000: With you computer started, on your desktop you should see an icon called My Computer. Double click to open. When My Computer opens, you will see icons for your 3 ½ drive (A:), C:, CD-ROM (D:?) and icons for Control Panel and Dialup Networking. If you do not see the Dialup Networking icon here, double click on Control Panel and look for Dialup Networking. In either case, please open Dialup Networking by double clicking on the icon. |

The dialup-networking window should have at least two icons, Make New Connection and your existing connection. |

Right click
on your current connection (Here it is called My Connection). Then left click on Properties. |

In the field where the telephone number is displayed, change that number to 277-3498. Then click on OK. You will be returned to the Dialup Networking window. |

Double click your connection as if you were going to connect to the Internet. The new phone number should be shown. Congratulations, you have successfully changed your Dialup Networking telephone number. |

Click on START, slide up and over to My Network Places and click. |

When Network Places opens, click on the View Network Connections listed on the left side, towards the top. |

You should now see your Dialup Connection listed towards the top of the right-hand window. |

Right click on the icon under the Dial-up section. Click on Properties. |

In the Phone Number field, change the current telephone number to 277-3498, and then click OK. |

After clicking on the OK button, you will be returned to the Network Connections window. Double click on the Dialup connection you just modified to start a dialup connection. When the connection dialog window appears, you should see the new phone number listed. |
