How to Configure your email using Outlook Express!

Email information:

The example here is with Outlook Express. The information will be the same for other POP3 email programs.

Substitute YOUR-DOMAIN.NET with the appropriate domain name. E.G. webiowa.net or webiowaplus.net

Replace the ITALISIZED words with the correct information.

your-domain.net

SMTP outgoing mail server: mail.your-domain.net

POP3 incoming mail server: mail.your-domain.net

Email address format: username@your-domain.net

Account Name: username@your-domain.net

Password: (You either requested one, or were provided with one):

Refer to screen shots below for typical placement of your account information.

In Outlook Express click on TOOLS, slide down and click on ACCOUNTS.
Click on the MAIL tab, the click on ADD, slide over and click on MAIL.
Type in the name you want people to see when they receive email from YOU.
Click NEXT. Type in your new email address, click NEXT.
Type in the name of your mail server (provided at the start of this document) in both the INCOMING and OUTGOING mail server fields. Verify that the mail server type is POP3. Click NEXT.
Type in your account name and password in formation as provided at the beginning of this document. Click NEXT.
Click FINISH to complete the email client setup. You will be returned to the Outlook Express email program.

Click CLOSE.

Congratulations! You have successfully completed configuring your email client!
Let us test the email. You should be able to send yourself an email message.
In Outlook Express click on the Create Mail button in the upper left-hand corner.
In the TO field, type in your new email address. Type something in the Subject field (Net Etiquette to have a subject). Click the SEND button.
Wait 30 seconds, then click the send and receive button in the Outlook Express window.
The message to you should arrive in the Inbox.
 
Success! You are now ready to send and receive email.
